This is purely a photography page.
Since I live in Thailand and don’t want to make any accidental waves, I provide minimal commentary about these very religious historic sites. The images are purely a photographic snapshot documenting amazing places I have seen in Thailand. Do a Google search for more information on any of these temples.
Chiang Mai has over 300 Buddhist temples (“wat” in Thai) scattered throughout the city. Here are seven of my favorites.
Wat Doi Suthep
Wat Doi Suthep – Mountain Temple founded in 1383 when the first stupa was built.

Over 300 steps to get into the temple.
Less than U.S. $1.00 to enter the larger temples. The smaller temples are free.
From the top of the mountain – the city of Chiang Mai sits beneath the clouds.
As you explore, you find more structures scattered on the mountaintop.
