Chiang Mai
Huay Tuen Tao Lake (Reservoir)
7 miles north of the Old City is a serene area perfect for biking and picnics.
For the last few miles of the stretch, dedicated one-way bicycle lanes have been installed next to the highway
You can drive/bike all the way around the lake. It’s as interesting
on the outer perimeter as the lake side view.
Some people come here to fish
A lot of Thais come here to eat and hang out in these structures located all around the lake
Once in your shady structure, you order food/drinks (including beer) from a menu. This is a typical lakeside mini restaurant. Free Wi-Fi is also available.
If it’s your special day, photo ops abound
There is only one section for swimming. But swimming in fresh water in Southeast Asia is ill advised for Westerners due to specific parasites.
